Zilog's ePIR besteht aus einem Z8 Controller und einem Murata Infrarod Sensor, der mit einer Fresnel Linse ausgestattet ist.

Durch den eingebauten Controller ist eine sehr gute Auswertung von Bewegungen möglich. Der ePIR unterstützt zwei Interface Arten:

• Hardware Interface - der MD Pin geht auf Low sobald eine Bewegung erkannt wurde
• Serielle Schnittstelle - der ePIR sendet die Bewegungsdaten seriell raus und kann über diese auch konfiguriert werden
