Atmega32u4 Breakout Board+

Toss out those FTDI cables and go USB-native with the ATmega32u4. After many months of back-orders, we finally received a shipment of these little guys and are excited to offer our breakout board. The little dev board keeps it simple, with just the bare essentials:

• Atmega32u4 - AVR core with USB capability. 32K flash, 2.5K RAM running at 16MHz
• We put an open-source, avrdude compatible bootloader on there, which takes 4K. You can always remove it
• Standard AVR 6-pin ISP connector for direct programming (when you need the extra space)
• Big Bootload/Reset button
• 500mA fuse on the USB power line
• Power LED and 'user' LED (also indicates when the bootloader is active)
• Fits nicely in any breadboard
• 4 mounting holes

Plug it in, connect a mini-B USB cable and you can start writing code immediately. With the built-in bootloader you don't even need an AVR programmer. We suggest checking out the LUFA library to get started with the USB core as nearly every kind of device has an example already.

ATMEGA8U2 Breakout

The board comes pre-loaded with the SparkFun USB to Serial COM Port firmware. When the board plugs into a USB port, Windows will ask for a driver, point to the driver .inf file found here. The board should now enumerate as a 'SparkFun COM Port' and act the same as the SparkFun FTDI Basic. In other words, you can use it as a USB to serial bridge or you can use it to load code with Arduino. In addition, the pinout on the end of the board is the same as the FTDI Basic, which means you can plug it directly into boards like the Arduino Pro.

The AT90USBKey is a low-cost demonstration board based on the AT90USB1287 microcontroller. It allows the quick evaluation of AVR microcontrollers and the AT90USB family. The key simply connects to the USB port of a personal computer to retrieve on-board documentation and run AVR programs.

Atmel MEGA-1284P Xplained (ATMEGA1284P-XPLD)

The AVR Xplained kits are great platforms for early evaluation of the capabilities offered by the AVR microcontrollers.
The MEGA-1284P Xplained contain one QTouch button sensor, three mechanical buttons, four LEDs, 3 analog sensors, a UART to USB bridge.
The AVR Xplained expansion headers provide easy access to analog and digital I/O pins. The board is powered by the USB cable and equipped with the standard 10-pin JTAG header that connects to the full range of AVR debuggers.

Atmel UC3-L0 Xplained (AT32UC3L0-XPLD)

The UC3-L0 Xplained features the AT32UC3L064, which is a picoPower device optimized for low power control applications. The AVR device offers ultra low power consumption, 64 KB of Flash and 16 KB of SRAM, and a rich selection of communication ports. The UC3L0 Xplained kit features four LEDs + one RGB LED, QTouch slider and button, NTC temperature sensor and analog filter, and 4 I/O expansion ports. Because the UC3L064 does not offer a USB port, the kit also features an external USB to UART/I2C bridge (AT32UC3B1256).

Atmel XMEGA-A1 Xplained (AVR-XPLAIN)

Xplain is an easy to use evaluation and demonstration kit for ATxmega128A1, offering a complete hardware for evaluating the highly accurate analog functionality of the device. The ADC can be used to read a temperature sensor and a potentiometer, and the DAC can be used to generate sound on a mono speaker.

Sure, the latest "iTouchy" gadgets are pretty cool. But who wants a locked down device? OK, it can't play MP3s, but it does have a 320x240 TFT color display with resistive touch screen, an Atmega32u4 8-bit microcontroller, lithium polymer battery charger, backlight control, micro-SD slot, and a triple-axis accelerometer. Yeah, this is the next big thing and for those of us who like to DIY, you can do a lot of cool stuff with this dev board.
