The Primer2 offers an innovative, ergonomic design similar to its predecessor's, with MEMS-based controls (navigate by tilting the tool left, right, backward or forward). In addition, based on the feedback of Primer users, we've packed Primer2 with an unprecedented range of new features to stimulate your creative ideas including:

• STM32F103E (512 Kbytes Flash)
• Li-Ion battery with smart loading control for improved current management, battery autonomy (more than 6 hours), charging time and battery lifespan
• New interface possibilities:
  • 128x160 pixel touch screen TFT display
  • Codec-based audio record and playback with headset connector and integrated microphone
  • 4-direction joystick and push button
  • 4 additional push buttons based on touchscreen capability
• New evaluation features:
  • Micro SD card connector
  • IrDA transceiver
  • 20-pin add-on connector for access to SPI, I2C, USART, CAN and analog/digital I/Os

All of this is in addition to the range of development features offered on both Primers:

• Ergonomic design
• MEMs accelerometer for for capture of the 3D-position information (implemented in navigation controls on the Primer)

Primer2 users also benefit from a complete range of sample applications for STM32 from Raisonance and fellow microcontroller enthousiasts, including:

• Maze - Game implementing the LCD and MEMS controls to navigate a maze while avoiding monsters
• Breakout - Game implementing the LCD and MEMS controls to navigate a maze while avoiding monsters
• Test - Basic test of a range of Primer2 features (touch screen, audio record/playback, USB and MEMS, Micro SD card connector, IrDA)
• Configuration - Check and configure Primer2capabilities. From the main menu launch the "Config" command. The following parameters can be set:
  • CPU Freq. This lets you choose the speed of your STM32-Primer.
  • Backlight. This lets you tune the backlight intensity. Note that the backlight is the main source of power consumption (with the LCD monitor itself). Reducing the backlight intensity allow to extend the duration when Primer is powered by the battery.
  • Time. This sets your STM32-Primer time. Note that the RTC clock will remain valid even if your STM32-Primer is shut off. 
  • Test. This performs a quick factory test of the STM32-Primer.

 You can add more applications to your Primer2. Create your own or download them from projects pages. Here you will find projects from the growing community of users, including future contest entries and appliications for Add-on modules freaturing new components.

As with its predecessor, the Primer2's rich range of features is complemented with a complete application development solution that includes:

• In-circuit debugging/programming via dedicated USB connection to the host PC 
• Complete software toolset for compiling debugging and programming applications, including:
  • Ride7 development software toolset with project manager, editor and high-level language debugging
  • GNU C compiler for ARM (no code size limitations) with seamless control from the Ride7 interface
  • CircleOS task scheduler for dynamic loading and management of new applications
  • C source code for all sample applications and libraries including (MEMs, TFT display, Audio record and playback, and more...)
