MP3 Player Shield

Give your Arduino some musical chops! The MP3 player shield unleashes the awesome MP3 decoding abilities of the VS1053B MP3 audio decoder IC to play MP3 files from an SD card, effectively turning any Arduino into a fully functional stand-alone MP3 player! The VS1053 is also capable of decoding Ogg Vorbis/MP3/AAC/WMA/MIDI audio and encoding IMA ADPCM and user-loadable Ogg Vorbis. The audio is sent out to both a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, as well as a 2-pin 0.1" pitch header.

These come in fancy clamshell packaging meant for our distributors that need it. Regular customers are welcome to order, but we want to limit the amount of extra packaging finding its way into the trash heap. The version without the extra plastic can be found in the related items below.

Polymorph is a non-toxic, biodegradable polyester with a low melting temperature of about 60°C (140°F). Prototype plastic parts can be made by simply heating the plastic beads in hot water until they turn clear and then kneading them together and shaping by hand. When it cools it becomes a nylon-like white plastic. Polymorph can be re-used by simply re-heating and re-shaping.
